Romantic Getaways In NCWith all the hustle and bustle of life, sometimes, it’s so easy to forget that we all need a little break with our loved ones to nurture and strengthen our relationship—and there’s no better way for that then checking out the best romantic getaways in NC. Not everyone knows this but there are so many great places to visit in North Carolina—after all, it is one of the most historical places in the USA, not to mention, one of the most romantic, as well.

Nights In Rodanthe Recreate The Best Romantic Getaways In NC

Remember that book and movie about a couple who met and fell in love in an inn in Rodanthe? Well, you and your special someone can do the same. Rodanthe, being bordered by many sand dunes and water, it is a place that people visit just to relax, and listen to the soothing sounds of nature and the waves. Rodanthe is a place that’s perfect for reconnecting with your special someone. It’s so serene, and tucked away, you’d wish to stay. I’ve been there a couple of times and I just keep coming back. Plus, I got engaged in the area, so it is pretty special. You’ll know what I mean when you visit.

Dear Wilmington

Another personal favorite of mine is the book “Dear John”, which was set in Wilmington, NC. Wilmington is a charming port near the Cape Fear Coast beach. There are lots to do in the area—just like in Dear John, you can go surfing, or set up a camp on the beach. You can also visit the remnants of a World War II battleship, a Hollywood production studio, cobblestone streets where you can ride horse-drawn carriages, and visit art galleries. It’s romantic and perfect, you’d wish you lived there—I know, I did.

Swansboro – The Perfect Chill-Out Spot And The Best Romantic Getaways In NC

Just like in the novel, “The Guardian”, you can check out Swansbori and chill out even with your dog. The place spills over the Atlantic ocean, and is also dubbed as the “friendly city by the sea”. Locals are sure to make you feel at home, and make you feel like you belong. You’d enjoy just relaxing by the sea, watching birds fly by, and dreaming big dreams with your loved one.

Make It, In Every Way, A Walk To Remember

Lastly, you can also check out Beaufort, the home to that famous tearjerker (and one of my personal favorites), “A Walk to Remember”, Beaufort is the 3rd oldest town in the state, and is rich in colonial charm, and maritime life, as well. You and your loved one can enjoy a night of dining and dancing at the Waterfront district, or ride ferries and feel like you’re in a Venice of some sort and go to Cape Lookout, Shackleford banks, or Carrot Island where wild horses all abound. Feel the wind and take a leap, it will be worth it, trust me. Quaint, romantic, and truly historic, It truly is one of the best romantic getaways in NC.
